  • Amaranthus are comparatively easy to grow. They prefer a warm climate. 
  • They are susceptible to frost. They prefer full sun and well drained soil. It is fairly heat and drought resistant.
  • Amaranthus grow tall and are generally preferred to be grown in ground and not pots. They can be sown directly too and if possible can be transplanted and grown too. They grow up to One meter and produce beautiful long Red blooms on strong, straight stems. The flowers are long lasting.
  • The spacing between plants and rows should be 40 cm. The soil should be well composted.
  • Watering should be done when the soil is dry. Keep it moist. During rains ensure there is no water logging. Feed Bahaar (liquid) fertilizer once in 15 days and later once buds appear feed Maxi grow fertilizer. It will ensure more flowers. Continue once in 7 days till the end of last flowers. To keep the soil enriched, put Biogro (organic manure) once a month.
  • The flowering starts generally from 100 days onwards.
