Step by Step Growth Guide
1. Sowing
Turnip can be sown by direct method.
Take a pot preferably rectangular with a minimum depth of 10" - 12". Fill it with POT-O-MIX.
If you wish to grow on seed / raised beds then prepare the seedbed (Refer to growing through seeds guidelines)
Sow the seeds at a depth of 0.6 cms. Cover lightly.
In pots sow at a distance of 15 cms apart and if in ground then keep 20 cms between plants as well as rows.
Water gently.
Provide shade till they germinate.
2. Nurturing
Turnip seeds will germinate in 4 - 6 days. Gradually expose to full sunlight.
Since they are grown in Winter Months, ensure they receive full sunlight.
Water every alternate days.
Once the plants are 30 days old then start fertilisation. Choose from ORGANIC or INORGANIC options.
Harvesting can be done in about 80 days of sowing.
Gently pull out the turnips along with the stems and the leaves.
