Step by Step Growth Guide
1. Sowing
Tomatoes are grown by transplanting method.
For hobby growing, you can grow direct into pots as well or transplant the seedlings into pots. Choose a pot of 12" diameter.
You can choose from a variety of seedling trays to prepare the seedlings.
The pots and seedling trays can be filled with POT-O-MIX (Growing Medium)
Sow 2 seeds per cavity at at depth of 0.4 cms. Cover lightly.
Water lightly.
Keep in shade till germination.
2. Nurturing
The seeds will germinate in about 6 - 8 days. Gradually expose then to full sunlight in next 10 - 12 days.
The seedlings will be ready to transplant in 25 - 30 days. You can transplant then into seed beds or pot.
A day prior to transplanting, feed PLANT STARTER. Once transplanted then feed for 2 more days .
The spacing between plants as well as rows should be 60 cms X 60 cms
Regular fertilization can being 10 days after transplantation and continue at intervals of 15 days. You can choose from ORGANIC or INORGANIC options.
Tomatoes need trellis support to grow and bear fruits. Make a trellis with bamboo or similar poles with twine / wires such that plant grows on it and remains upright.
Tomatoes are ready for harvest in 85 - 90 days of sowing and can continue for next 6 months.
