Step by Step Growth Guide
1. Sowing
Chillies are grown through transplanting method.
Choose a seedling tray that suits the purpose and fill it with POT-O-MIX (growing Medium)
Sow 2 seeds per cavity at 0.4 cms depth. Cover lightly.
For hobby growing, you can sow direct into pots. Put 2-3 seeds in a 12" pot.
The spacing on raised / seed beds should be 45 cms between plants and 60 cms between rows.
Water gently and keep in shade till they germinate.
2. Nurturing
Chilli seeds will germinate in about 4 - 6 days. Gradually expose them to sunlight over a period of next 10 - 15 days.
The seedlings are ready for transplanting by the end of 4th week (30 days).
A day prior and 2 days after transplanting, feed PLANT STARTER (shock absorber, root enhancer)
Check the soil for moisture and water accordingly.
You might need to stake the plants once they fruit. The fruits causes the plant to become heavy and not remain upright. Give a support of the stake (bamboo) to keep it upright.
Fertilisation should be done 10 days after transplanting and continue at intervals of every 15 days. Choose from ORGANIC or INORGANIC options.
Chillies are ready for harvest in 60 days from transplanting or 85 - 90 days from sowing.
Harvest as and when chillies are ready. This encourages more yields. Cut the chillies off the plant with scissors and not pluck or pull by hands.
